Songs for the criminal record – and a crash course in legal psychology
Songs for the criminal record – and a crash course in legal psychology
Singer, forensic psychologist and popular science-writer Julia Korkman, the current president of the European Association of Psychology and Law will perform her popular concert Songs for the criminal record at the Uusi Paviljonki. Together with extraordinary musicians Aki Hauru, Teemu Mattson, Joakim Berghäll and Robi de Godzinsky she will invite the audience to ponder questions such as why people commit crimes, how criminality can be understood in the light of statistics and science, and what miscarriages of justice can look like. The songs and short lectures will touch upon topics such as false confessions, sexual crimes, stalking and violence in close relationships. The music consists of mostly well-known songs ranging from folk songs to cabaret and jazz, in new, dark arrangements by Aki Hauru specifically for this concert series.
The event is part of the Open Call for collaborative events at the Uusi Paviljonki – Nya Paviljongen in spring 2024.
