Culture-Coffee: Painting in the atmosphere of Studio Kukkapuro FULLY BOOKED
Culture-Coffee: Painting in the atmosphere of Studio Kukkapuro on August 9th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
We will have the opportunity to visit Yrjö Kukkapuro’s studio and its surroundings. We will familiarize ourselves with the details by painting an object of your choice that particularly interests you. The playful and accessible painting session will be led by the artist Svetlana Ruoho. We will use water-soluble ready mix colors on paper. All materials will be provided on-site. No prior painting experience is necessary. This painting workshop is suitable for all ages.
The event is fully booked! However, it’s still advisable to sign up for the waiting list in case there are cancellations.
The number of registrations will also give us an indication of how popular the event is and whether it’s worth organizing a similar one again.
Pre-registration is required for the event, and the number of spots is limited. If you have registered but cannot attend, please cancel your spot at least 48 hours before the event.
Culture-Coffee is a new event series for 2023 organized by the Cultural Services. Cultural Coffees will be held approximately once a month, with each event featuring a speaker who will talk about a specific topic. You will also have the opportunity to try it out yourself! During the evening, we will offer coffee and snacks. The event is suitable for all residents of Kauniainen Grankulla who want to spend an inspiring evening. The topics of the Cultural Coffees will vary each time.
Svetlana Ruoho
“The purpose of art is to touch the heart” is one of the guiding principles of the artist Svetlana Ruoho. Her portrait studies and subjects drawn from nature reflect this conviction. Svetlana Ruoho, who received her art education in St. Petersburg, has lived in Central Finland for ten years and moved to Espoo in the fall of 2021. There, the colors on her palette come alive and evoke emotions on canvas, both in the details and as a whole.

Studio Kukkapuro
Studio Kukkapuro, located in Kauniainen, is a futuristic studio and home shared by designer Yrjö Kukkapuro and artist Irmeli Kukkapuro. Built in 1968, the hyperbolic paraboloid is a self-supporting concrete shell that forms a unified space of 200 square meters. The building is surrounded by a dense forest of walnut and oak trees. The plot is nearly untouched and provides shelter for several bird species. The lifelong work of the Kukkapuros and the studio building are presented to small groups by appointment.
