Blue Grass Night in Grankulla

Wednesday 8.3. at At 19.00 you can hear upbeat American music at the Uusi Paviljonki. On stage are the bluegrass bands Jussi Syren And The Groundbreakers, and Self Rising Flour.

The bands perform bluegrass, which could be called the acoustic manifestation of country music.

JUSSI SYREN AND THE GROUNDBRAKERS
Jussi Syren And The Groundbreakers is an internationally respected band that has toured in nine US states and seven European countries.
In 2020, the band was selected to perform at the biggest event in bluegrass, the IBMA World of Bluegrass in the United States. In the same year, Groundbreaker’s album Bluegrass Christmas was named Christmas album of the year by Finnish local radio stations.
The band has done a recording collaboration with Grammy winner Michael Cleveland, which will continue when the thirteenth album is released in the summer of 2023.

SELF RISING FLOUR
Self Rising Flour is a new band from Espoo, they have already released an album and another one is coming in the spring.
The band’s debut album received praise in the American magazine Bluegrass Today. The band’s leader, the banjoist/singer Kalle Tuovinen, is responsible for the band’s song material.
