AMI’S ALBUM – 50 YEARS ON STAGE!
It has really been 50 years since the girl from Vaasa sang Sinussa on roimaa alkumiehen voimaa (You have the strength of a primal man).

After Apinamies, Aspelund’s next calling card was Mitt äppelträd(My Apple Tree). In the 70s and 80s, there were big restaurant shows, TV recordings, international singing competitions, and Eurovision, ESC 1983 with Fantasiaa. Ami Aspelund’s musical style has varied over the years, including schlager, ballads, pop, jazz, blues, Latin rhythms, gospel, and of course, show numbers.

In the 2000s, Aspelund’s stages were theaters and musicals, which continue into the 2020s. Her first musical was actually Urinetown at Åbo Svenska Teatern in 2006! In recent years, she has participated in Stormskärs-Maja, Äidinmaa, and Seili at Salon Teatteri from 2019 to 2021, and Vie meren tuoksuun at Porin Teatteri from 2021 to 2023. From autumn 2023 onwards, she will appear in the musical Niinkuin taivaassa (Såsom i Himlen) at the City theatre in Seinäjoki.

In AMI’S ALBUM, Ami Aspelund’s photos and video clips from the 80s show productions will be projected on stage. Aspelund will also present new songs such as Floden, Piazzollas Libertango, and Mountain High, as well as songs from the musicals she has been involved in and current songs that are meaningful to her.

Not everything can fit in, but AMI’S ALBUM is a mix of what she has done over the years and what she is doing today.
